Abstract

One of the main causes of cardiovascular mortality is myocardial infarction, which often results from coronary artery thrombosis and the rupture of an atherosclerotic plaque. Timely diagnosis and treatment of myocardial infarction are crucial for improving myocardial infarction outcomes and reducing mortality. Objective. To propose a preliminary version of specialized software for analyzing electrocardiograms for early detection of myocardial infarction, especially in healthcare facilities with limited resources. The program uses an example focusing on the ECG leads I, aVL, V5, and V6, reflecting ischemic damage to the lateral wall of the left ventricle, and demonstrates the likelihood of acute myocardial infarction of the lateral wall of the left ventricle. Methods and Materials. The study is based on the analysis of ECGs from healthy individuals and patients diagnosed with myocardial infarction, obtained from the 1-Mendeley database. Modern methods of ECG data processing are used, including algorithms for identifying and interpolating critical points on ECG loops, allowing accurate detection of myocardial infarction signs. Results and Conclusions. The developed system demonstrates the capabilities of automated ECG analysis in diagnosing myocardial infarction, providing an important tool for improving diagnostic procedures in resource-limited settings. This development is a significant step towards the early detection of myocardial infarction. Further development of the program will allow for new indices to be obtained, assessing subtle changes in the QRST loops on the ECG, which should enhance the informational value of the ECG for predicting and selecting treatment tactics for patients with cardiovascular diseases. In acute coronary syndrome, this will provide a quick assessment of the condition and risk stratification of these patients. This is particularly relevant for developing countries with a shortage of expensive high-tech equipment.
