Abstract
Introduction. Currently, the tactics of treatment for women with genital endometriosis tend to revolve around the combined use of surgical modalities and hormonal therapy. Progress in contraception and the improvement of progestogens have made it possible to create compounds with new properties, which identified new opportunities for differentiated therapy. The progestogen dienogest (Visanne) has been called a "hybrid" progestogen because, unlike others, it has the properties of both a progestogen derivative and a norsteroid. Relapses and further progression of the disease primarily affect women suffering from infertility.
